This was strictly a “build” project for a friend who was reinventing his restaurant. Formally known as the Queen’s Kickshaw, Ben, and his wife decided to close their doors, and reinvent themselves as a Vegan Chinese based restaurant.
Ben (the Owner) already had some basic drawings in place of what he wanted the benches, booths, and table tops to look like. He suppled me the 1” Baltic Birch plywood, and I went to town.
Creating 3 Double faced, and 1 single faced, booths, ten large table tops, eighteen small table tops, and one, twenty foot long bench top, which was. All of which was 2” thick when complete.
The idea behind this project was to take a piece of furniture that has been around for centuries, and find a way to give it new life through new methodologies.
Courting Chairs date back to Victorian times, and I wanted to create a version of this that brought the users through their first court to being married. Each lounge chair is set on a swivel with a singular leg connecting both chairs. The chairs can swivel from the courting position, all the way through to facing the same direction. They can even face away from each other, for those times, when you may not want to face your love.
This bed, believe it or not is flat-pack, and requires no tools for assembly. This bed, and both side tables can fit in a 3’x5’x9” tall box. Once you assemble the internal rod structure, you pull the first slat, and it pulls each slat behind it. Once stretched fully, the 2 end slats are screwed into a set position, and the inner slats are stationary and perfectly spaced.
His and Hers night stands, each withs similar but different internal character.
This entire set was designed to be flat-packed and then pulled into shape with no tools needed.

White slats create a planar surface for personal items, lamps, and alarm clocks. Inner cut outs are sized for things such as books or magazines.

This desk is used as the reception desk at the DuPont Corian Design Studio. The unit is built with Knoll's Dividends furniture system, which integrates power, data, and all wire management through the entire system. The system is then wrapped with Corian solid surface material, in a form that fits with the style of the space. This allows the client to have easily manageable connections, and interior panels that can be swapped as necessary, and also a custom millwork look.
This really shows that even though you spec. a very standard straight forward set up like Knoll’s Dividends structure, you can do very custom fascia, for a unique, but standardized set up.
This sample library is located in the DuPont Corian Design Studio, and was designed around the idea of showcasing colors along with textures, and technology.
On the far left is a Westin panel showing a pattern in Corian - Glacier Ice. These panels are the new standard at Westin Hotels across the country. We worked closely with the Design team at Starwood Hotels, to develop these units.
On the far back wall is a DIRTT Environmental's - Breathe Wall. This wall showcases Dirtt's living plants along with Corian panels. These panels can be swapped out at any given time to showcase new colors or patterns.
This chandelier was based around a bent plywood substructure, and had a 8’ wing span from end to end.
Each light tube encases an 18’ Florescent, or LED light.
Once hung, the light blends into space, with a minimal, and clean aesthetic.
